It’s no secret 2015 has been a great year for adidas. New models such as the Ultra Boost – the self proclaimed ‘greatest running shoe of all time’, and a revival of classics have boosted sales and pushed adidas to the forefront of fashion. We’ve seen the Stan Smith take to the catwalk and the Superstar given a colourful makeover thanks to Pharrell Williams. Not to mention the huge success of the collaboration with Kanye West’s ‘Yeezy’ line – an entire entity of it’s own now.
With 2015 coming to a close adidas are back to remind us why they are the brand of the moment and why we all should be wearing those famous three stripes going in to 2016.
Over the next week or so we are being treated to these three beauties:
This weekend sees the release of the NMD Runner – the newest member to the Boost family. Featuring a Boost sole and a Primeknit sock liner, the NMD takes inspiration from the adidas archives and includes red and blue colour blocks to the midsole.
The first release will be accompanied by a limited edition Consortium version, in a tonal grey colour way with reflective detailing which is sure to sell out fast. We can also expect to see numerous colour options drop throughout 2016.
Another first for adidas is the Consortium x HYPEBEAST Ultra Boost “Uncaged” which is due for the release on the 18th.
The shoe, is much like the original Ultra Boost however as the name suggests, the ‘three stripes’ cage on the upper has been removed. Other features include adidas and HYPEBEAST branding to a leather insole and a NFC chip on the tongue that will give access to an accompanying microsite.
While 2015 has been a great year for adidas, 2016 looks like its going to be just as successful. You can keep up to date with the latest information and stockists for all these releases at The Drop Date.
