With summer rapidly approaching its finally time to unbox those shoes you’ve had stored away since the end of last summer – the warmer, dryer weather means you no longer need to worry about the wet weather ruining you’re favourite footwear.

If you’ve been thinking about investing in a new pair for the summer, now is the time to start thinking about what you want out of your footwear.

A good starting point is thinking about what you will use them for. Are you looking for something for everyday wear or something more premium that you will wear less frequently. If you’re paying a lot of money for something, you are going to want to make sure it lasts, so also think about quality – A leather shoe is going to stand the test of time against a canvas-style shoe.

Depending on the use, you may want to consider the colour. For me, I always go for black or white or a combination of the two as you can never go wrong with neutrals.

Whether you are looking to invest in premium footwear or are just after a new summer beater I have put this quick list together to show you what my favourite pairs are for this summer. You’ll have to let me know what you think in the comments!

01. Nike Air Max 97 OG ‘Silver Bullet’

Earlier this year, Nike announced it was reissuing the OG Nike Air Max 97 as a limited release in Italy. Fast forward a few months and Nike confirmed a wider release, seeing it  sell out immediately. Love them or hate them the Air Max 97 is back for 2017, the infamous silhouette from Nike is also celebrating it’s 20th anniversary so expect further colour options through the year. Personally, I love the OG Air Max 97 and I’m praying for a triple black version!

02. Converse X Comme des Garçon Play CT 70

I have been waiting for the COMME des GARÇONS PLAY and Converse collection to restock forever. They were on one of my first ever wish lists when I first started this blog, so it’s been a while! At the time I had the first collaboration between the brands so didn’t feel the need to pick them up straight away. When I saw that Dover Street Market had restocked them a couple of weeks ago I had to get both the high and low versions and can see these being my everyday pairs this summer!

03. Nike Mayfly Woven

The Nike Mayfly Woven is another of those pairs that you either love or hate. I bought these last year for my trip to Thailand, but haven’t worn them since then. Back in a fresh set of colourways this year, the Mayfly Woven is the perfect casual summer shoe for 2017.

The woven perforation detailing along the suede uppers are great for keeping cool and the leather laces and details to the heel adds a more luxe feel to the shoe, making them a great transition between day and night. I’m looking forward to wearing these a lot more this year so lets hope the weather holds out.

04. Common Projects Original Achilles Low

Famed for their sleek silhouette, minimal branding and premium price tag, the white Achilles low is probably the most iconic of the Common Projects designs. I’ve wanted them for so long but could never justify the price tag. Lucky for me I got them £100 cheaper in the sales after Christmas and have been saving them for the warmer months.

With luxury Italian leather covering them inside and out, it’s clear the see why they have  so much hype around them. The quality and craftsmanship on these are unreal and the size and style code gold stamp is just the right amount of detail. From first wear you can really tell they are going to last for years to come, I’m really glad I took the plunge!

05. Nike Air Max 95 Ultra Essential

Another pair of Nikes… This time its the Air Max 95 silhouette. This updated version of the original shoe features a no-sew upper which makes them feel a lot more streamlined compared to the originals which are on the chunky side. I’m really enjoying the revival of some of the other ‘less popular’ models Nike are bringing out this year.

So there you have it. My top 5 pairs I will be wearing this summer. What are your favourite pair? What will you be wearing this summer?

Ultimate Christmas Wishlist

With Christmas just over a week away I thought I would join in and share with you my Ultimate Christmas Wishlist. This year is the first year I haven’t asked for a single thing off anyone, but that doesn’t stop me looking right? So if British Pounds were no object, what would be at the top of my list?

Screen Shot 2016-12-17 at 11.30.00.png

The Comme des Garçons Play line has been a firm favourite of mine for a while now so I would love to add a black shirt to my line up along with this sweater. I really like how the logo is blacked out on the shirt, which makes it quite subtle. The hoody is in a classic grey colour way, and can be worn with pretty much anything. Staying with clothes I love this A.P.C Oh L’Amour shirt. I actually ordered it on Black Friday along with my other purchases, but ended up sending it back, not being able to justify £65 on a t-shirt going into December! I picked up a load of A.P.C from END in the Boxing Day sales last year so have everything crossed this will still be around then. The final shirt is the Saint Laurent Blood Luster tee with the black fang design. I think this would look great paired with some torn blue jeans and the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 Lo also on the list.

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know by now I’m a bit of a sneaker hoarder, so I couldn’t let a wishlist pass without a few pairs included. As mentioned I’m a huge fan of the 70’s Converse; I love the vintage look of them and the build quality is superior to your regular Chuck Taylor’s – a timeless classic for everyones collection. Next up, I have included a pair of my favourite Yeezy Boosts from Adidas. The first two releases from the Yeezy Boost line will always be my favourites. Over the Turtle Doves I would go for the Pirate Black variation as I think they could be worn with more outfits and I am also less likely to ruin them! The chances of ever owning a pair is unlikely, but a boy can dream! The final pair, is the Original Achilles Low from Common Projects. These have featured in many of my wishlists, I’m actually quite surprised I haven’t got a pair yet. Maybe it’s something to do with the price? Whatever it is,  hopefully they’ll be in my collection in the New Year.

On to entertainment and technology, my iPhone6S is starting to fail so I could do with an upgrade to the new iPhone7 Plus. I really like the new matte black colour option so would definitely go for that when I get around to ordering a new one. Another Apple product on my Wishlist is the new Apple Watch and in particular the Space Grey Aluminium Case with Black Woven Nylon StrapI like the idea of the watch however I’m not 100% convinced of how much I would use this yet or how it would fit into my everyday life but I’m sure I could adapt easily if I opened one on December 25th! I’ve also included a selection of vinyls for my ever-increasing collection.

The final two items on my Ultimate Christmas Wishlist come from Louis Vuitton and Maison Margiela. Firstly, how nice is this bag? When LV first revealed the Monogram Eclipse Collection I was obsessed. After always wanting a LV holdall, when I saw this bag in the collection I knew one day I have to have it. The Keepall Voyager combines the classic sophistication and look of a classic LV holdall with a modern sporty twist, thanks to the leather bands along the body and textile straps. As my holdall has just broken, this would be a more than welcome replacement! Last but not least, I had to include Jazz Club Eau de Toilette by Maison Margiela.

What do you think of my Ultimate Wishlist?

Christmas Haul!

While Christmas isn’t just about gifts, if you’re anything like me, you still like to be nosey and see what everyone else received. So just incase you were wondering what I got, here’s a few of my favourites this year.

Firstly, clothing. From my family I received a new Comme Des Garçons PLAY shirt from the Gold collection. I love my grey version and wear it all the time so I’m sure this new one will also be getting a lot of wear. The embroidered gold heart really stands out and adds a luxurious feel to what is essentially a plain white tee. Next up, a Camouflage Sweater from Topman. While I don’t usually wear loads of colour and patterns, this sweater has that faded worn in look and goes well with the rest of my wardrobe.

Next up I received the classic black Converse All Stars from my brother. I have been wanting them for a while so was glad to get them as I’m really keen to build up a wardrobe of classic items. With that in mind, I also received the adidas Superstars in the classic white colour way with black stripes. There is also some gold detail on the shoes which adds to that retro feel and has a nod towards the CDG shirt.

Moving on to accessories and grooming, I got this simple khaki zip around wallet from A.P.C, one of my favourite brands. There’s not a lot of space inside, but this will be perfect to take out on a night out as it’s so slimline. I also received this chunky keyring from A.P.C which I will eventually attach to my car fob. I have already reviewed The Grown Alchemist Amenity Kit so won’t talk about it again but you can read more about it here.

Lastly, entertainment. From my brother I received the Louis Vuitton New York Travel guide. I am a huge fan of travel guides and love reading about new places and planning future travels so they’re always a welcome gift. While I’m not sure where 2016 will take me at the moment, I would love a quick break to New York again during the summer where this will come in handy.

I also received quite a few CDs (yes, they still exist) and DVDs for my collection, with the Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy, and the new City and Colour among my favourites.

I hope you all had a great festive break!

What did you get for Christmas?

No work. All PLAY

Having a week off work is dangerous. While I should be concentrating on ticking off my Christmas list, instead, my latest purchase is for myself and comes from Comme des Garçons PLAY x Converse.

I found this pair while browsing the listings on Depop. Having recently sold some of my own collection through the app, I decided to reinvest and bag this pair!

I found the app is really easy to use and the transaction with the seller was straight forward. I ended up paying £70 for these, which I think is a bargain as they were new and in their original box (and I have been after them for ages.) So here they are:

The shoe combines the classic All Star Lo silhouette with the simple CDG PLAY heart logo to the outer side of both shoes. The shoe is finished with a contrasting white seam to the heel and branding inside the shoe.

Although the ‘All Star 70s’ collaboration has only just been released, for me, these ones are the classics and I look forward to styling them up in the upcoming months.

What do you think of my latest purchase? Have you bought anything through Depop?
