With summer rapidly approaching its finally time to unbox those shoes you’ve had stored away since the end of last summer – the warmer, dryer weather means you no longer need to worry about the wet weather ruining you’re favourite footwear.

If you’ve been thinking about investing in a new pair for the summer, now is the time to start thinking about what you want out of your footwear.

A good starting point is thinking about what you will use them for. Are you looking for something for everyday wear or something more premium that you will wear less frequently. If you’re paying a lot of money for something, you are going to want to make sure it lasts, so also think about quality – A leather shoe is going to stand the test of time against a canvas-style shoe.

Depending on the use, you may want to consider the colour. For me, I always go for black or white or a combination of the two as you can never go wrong with neutrals.

Whether you are looking to invest in premium footwear or are just after a new summer beater I have put this quick list together to show you what my favourite pairs are for this summer. You’ll have to let me know what you think in the comments!

01. Nike Air Max 97 OG ‘Silver Bullet’

Earlier this year, Nike announced it was reissuing the OG Nike Air Max 97 as a limited release in Italy. Fast forward a few months and Nike confirmed a wider release, seeing it  sell out immediately. Love them or hate them the Air Max 97 is back for 2017, the infamous silhouette from Nike is also celebrating it’s 20th anniversary so expect further colour options through the year. Personally, I love the OG Air Max 97 and I’m praying for a triple black version!

02. Converse X Comme des Garçon Play CT 70

I have been waiting for the COMME des GARÇONS PLAY and Converse collection to restock forever. They were on one of my first ever wish lists when I first started this blog, so it’s been a while! At the time I had the first collaboration between the brands so didn’t feel the need to pick them up straight away. When I saw that Dover Street Market had restocked them a couple of weeks ago I had to get both the high and low versions and can see these being my everyday pairs this summer!

03. Nike Mayfly Woven

The Nike Mayfly Woven is another of those pairs that you either love or hate. I bought these last year for my trip to Thailand, but haven’t worn them since then. Back in a fresh set of colourways this year, the Mayfly Woven is the perfect casual summer shoe for 2017.

The woven perforation detailing along the suede uppers are great for keeping cool and the leather laces and details to the heel adds a more luxe feel to the shoe, making them a great transition between day and night. I’m looking forward to wearing these a lot more this year so lets hope the weather holds out.

04. Common Projects Original Achilles Low

Famed for their sleek silhouette, minimal branding and premium price tag, the white Achilles low is probably the most iconic of the Common Projects designs. I’ve wanted them for so long but could never justify the price tag. Lucky for me I got them £100 cheaper in the sales after Christmas and have been saving them for the warmer months.

With luxury Italian leather covering them inside and out, it’s clear the see why they have  so much hype around them. The quality and craftsmanship on these are unreal and the size and style code gold stamp is just the right amount of detail. From first wear you can really tell they are going to last for years to come, I’m really glad I took the plunge!

05. Nike Air Max 95 Ultra Essential

Another pair of Nikes… This time its the Air Max 95 silhouette. This updated version of the original shoe features a no-sew upper which makes them feel a lot more streamlined compared to the originals which are on the chunky side. I’m really enjoying the revival of some of the other ‘less popular’ models Nike are bringing out this year.

So there you have it. My top 5 pairs I will be wearing this summer. What are your favourite pair? What will you be wearing this summer?

Ultimate Wishlist

Screen Shot 2017-04-01 at 18.06.38

If you are anything like me then I’m sure you have been counting down to payday for the last week or two as well. Although I’m pretty good with money, by the time payday arrives, I already have my budget planned for the month ahead and know how much I have left to play with and… It’s okay to treat yourself every now and again!

Right now I’m starting to look for pieces to see me through the upcoming months and in to summer. In particular I’m looking at t-shirts and a pair of shorts or two as I have a trip away next month. I’ve just put a order in for ASOS for a couple of bits- I love this Nirvana band shirt. However, If I’m looking for items to last beyond a couple of months, I don’t mind paying more for good quality pieces.

So, as always, I have put together another unrealistic wishlist of things I would love to add to my wardrobe. The chances of it becoming reality are slim but a boy can dream! It’s always good to have things to work towards and coincidently, it’s also my Birthday next month too…

I think I’ve found some great pieces in the selection above. I have had my eyes on the Gucci  Washed T-shirt with Gucci print and Valentino Camouflage Slide Sandal for some time now. You can find all the links below if you happen to find something you like also.

LPU | Nike Mayfly Woven, YMC, Topman & More!

With just three weeks until my Thailand travels, shopping mode is in full swing. I literally can’t stop. Whilst I don’t want to overpack, it’s still nice to take a few new pieces with you form those days when vest and shorts just don’t cut it.

I went into Topman recently with the premise of buying a couple of throwaway white tees to take with me. I find as I get older, I tend to sway towards a more refined style, swapping colourful printed tees to simple basics. You’ll often find me in a classic plain white t-shirt over anything else. You might think a white t-shirt might be boring, but basics don’t have to be with new cuts and premium materials. Anyway, along with a couple of white tees (and a pink one), I picked up this orange oversized t-shirt. Similar in style to a shirt Bieber was photographed wearing, this tee may be one of my favourite things I have picked up this year. And I don’t like colour.

The shirt itself is from the Topman LTD range, a more exclusive branch of the Topman line. It has a box-like fit to it, with dropped shoulders, an oversized feel and thankfully regular length rather than long line. One trend I haven’t really been able to get into. Whilst I would usually wear a medium, I chose this in a small due to the fit and it fits great.

The next item I picked up was the Washed Black Echo Park long sleeve tee. It’s also described as ‘long line’ but I don’t really know why it’s no longer than an ordinary shirt. The front features a white text print to the right hand ‘pocket’ area, with identical design printed on the reverse. I thought this would serve me well in the evening when all the  bugs come out, or if the temperature happens to drop.

For shorts, I picked up these YMC Drawstring Sweat Shorts in the sale on ASOS for £42. Originally the waist cord was luminous green but I switched this out to a grey tie cord, which I think looks better. The material is sweatshirt material which means they are really comfortable, just what you need for when you are travelling around.

On to footwear, my Latest Pick Up comes from Nike. I actually bought these in black and grey the day they were rereleased, but couldn’t decide on them and regrettably ended up selling them over on depop. A month or two later I wished I had kept them for my trip. After trying a couple of sites for the black pair in my size, I finally found them at Hanon. What’s even better is that they are currently reduced by 30% in the sale to just over £60. Bargain. And that was that.

I love how these are different to everything I currently own. They’re almost part sandal and part shoe and will be ideal to take away with me to keep me cool. Away from my trip, these will look just as good worn with a pair of black ripped jeans pin rolled at the ankles.

What do you think of my LPU’s?

Wishlist 009

The countdown to my Thailand trip has officially begun! For a place I have never been too before, I’m really looking forward too immersing myself in the culture and seeing the true beauty of what the islands have to offer. For the majority of our time there we will be joining Contiki, travelling around a handful of different islands on the East Island Hopper Tour, with the rest of the trip still to be confirmed!

As we’ll be hopping from island to island the aim is to keep packing to a minimum. With 6 weeks until it begins, I thought it was about time that I started to sort out what I will be taking with me, what I need to still buy and what can be left behind.

I’ve decided to start stocking up on a few cheap basics, such as basic tees and lightweight shorts, rather than worry about ruining any of the clothes I’ve paid a lot for. As we won’t be staying in one particular place for too long, I’m going to pack for comfort and convenience.

With that in mind, my latest Wishlist post is dedicated to a few items I hope to add to my wardrobe before I go:

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 11.03.23

Topman Washed Red Paisley Bandana £5 | Topman Black Herringbone Snapback Cap £12 | ASOS Selected Sweat Shorts in Grey & Black (on sale £14) | Thrasher Flame Logo Pullover Hoodie £58.95 | Aesop Petitgrain Reviving Body Gel £25 | Aesop Protective Body Lotion SPF50 £27 | Nike Sock Dart Wolf Grey £105

The first thing I need is more shorts. The lightweight jersey shorts from ASOS are great. Not only will they take up hardly any room in my luggage, they also look like they’ll be perfect for the hot climate. As the material is so light, hopefully they will keep me cool, and at £14 in the sale, a real bargain.

Whilst I like to stay cool, I would prefer to be too hot then cold anyway. As I’m not too sure how much the temperature drops at night, or how air-conditioned places may be, I’m going to make sure I pack at least one hoodie with me. I’ve been a big fan of the Thrasher brand for some time now and the Flame Logo Pullover is at the top of my wish list, despite being one of the more pricier items on there. With vintage rock band logos creeping there way back onto the high streets over the past few months, the flame logo on the hoodie seems quite relevant this summer.

Finally, in terms of comfort, a comfy pair of trainer/sneakers is a must. While deciding which couple of pairs to take with me is already a hard enough task, I really like the colour of these latest Sock Darts from Nike, so they might be making their way into my collection before I go.

LPU | Nike Air Presto & Urban Outfitters

My small selection of latests pick ups (LPU) for January come from Nike and Urban Outfitters.

The Nike Prestos I have wanted for sometime so I was glad to see them restocked a couple of weeks ago and of course I went with the ‘triple black’ colour way. I can see this shoe being 2016’s Huarache, already having a couple of restocks since release.

I chose to buy these in a size M which fits a 9-10. Although they are really comfortable, I think I might size down to a size S as there is plenty of room in them and I prefer them a bit more tight fitting. I like how versatile these Nikes are, crossing between streetwear and sportswear. Whether you’re wearing them to the gym with a pair of tapered joggers or with your favourite jeans, they’re bound to look good.

My second purchase comes from Urban Outfitters and is a distressed ‘Metallica’ band tee. Retro band t-shirts have seen a huge revival this past year thanks to high-end streetwear brands such as Fear of God and Kanye Wests ‘Tour’ merchandise reinterpreting the classic rock logos into must-have pieces. This high street alternative costs next to nothing and gives the same results!

What do you think to my latest purchases?
