Whether you define your style as casual or smart, there are certain items which can infiltrate both looks. Whatever your style you will have noticed the presence of the cuffed jogger pant. Once a sportswear and loungewear staple, joggers have enjoyed a huge revival over the past couple of years, forming one of the key trends seen not only on the street but also on the runway too.
The arrival of the ‘Sports Luxe’ trend last year broke down the traditional boundaries which were once between sportswear and casual wear combining the comfort of sports with premium materials and new sillohettes.
In terms of joggers the use of premium materials and careful design has given the 90s favourite a new lease of life, boasting a new style of the classic; a slim fitting, cuffed ankle pant with a waistband that would look good whether worn with a shirt or a t-shirt, a pair of classic trainers or the latest Nike.
Furthermore, the skinny jogger has not only become acceptable for everyday wear, the trend is now becoming ever present in a more formal situation with the emergence of the skinny jogger suit, already widely available on the highstreet, turning what was once a very causal item of clothing into an acceptable smart alternative.
The demand from consumers for premium street wear has not only translated into the highstreet stores but to big names and premium brands all offering their take on luxury sports wear.

Following on from the recent collaboration with Tretorn earlier in the year, Publish have teamed up with another footwear brand, Clae, for a collaborative shoe titled “The Natural State”. The casual shoe combines Clae’s Gregory SP silhouette with a beige colorway that is inspired by California’s Joshua Tree National Park landscape. The low-top is crafted from natural Italian vegetable-tanned leather and features perforated panels, woven nylon laces and co-branded insoles. The Natural State also comes wrapped in a custom-made bandana that features Joshua Tree’s geological elevation on it and is limited to 500 pairs, with each box being individually numbered.
The collaborative shoe will be available on April 30th at publishbrand.com and select retailers.
The second release in the Spring collection from Californian brand, Publish, has just been unveiled. We were introduced to the first part of their ‘The Resistance’ collection in early February which featured a selection of new jackets, jogger pants and button-downs, for those sunny but cold Spring days. The latest collection hints to the warmer months and features a wider selection of shorts, t-shirts and short sleeved shirts.
So far SS15 has been about premium materials, luxury basics, classic styles and unbranded branding and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. Publish continue to deliver premium quality clothes that are timeless.
The classic white crew neck edit.
1. 2. 3.
The Shelby, Weston and Finch shirts are all part of The Resistance Part 2 release and all present alternatives to the classic white t-shirt. The Shelby (1) crew neck is possibly the closest you can get to a ‘basic’ white t-shirt, however it features a scalloped button and side panelling which give it a modern makeover; the type of t-shirt which can be worn for any occasion. The Finch (2) is a cotton crew neck that features a over lock stitch throughout. Combined with raw edge details and a side split hem, this shirt is your best bet for that causal look. Finally, The Weston (3) crew is a cotton-polyester hybrid and features a polka dot knit, featuring a scalloped bottom and split hem, great if your going for that Sports Luxe vibe. Which one would you go for?
To coincide with the latest SS15 delivery, Publish have also teamed up with Swedish brand, Tretorn and men’s shop Ps & Qs, to collaborate on a two piece footwear collection ‘Better Days’. As we have seen with the Adidas Stan Smith, classic tennis styles are back and bigger than ever. This two piece release features both a leather suede and white perforated leather version of the Tretorn Nylite silhouette, and are available here.

Californian street wear brand Publish have unveiled their Spring 2015 collection titled ‘The Resistance’. For a Spring offering the collection is fairly large featuring a selection of new items including the denim-inspired jacket ‘Lester’, button-down shirts and of course the bucket hat. The collection also features a new assortment of the staple pants and joggers such as the plaid ‘Rylan’ joggers.
I have selected my favourite looks from the Spring Lookbook above, as you can probably tell i’m really liking the black / olive colours of this season. I can see myself wearing all of the above, in fact, I really need a pair of those black jogger pants.
You can view the full Spring Lookbook and shop Publish here. UK stockist Urban Industry also have a selection of Publish here.
